The Harper's Song (2017)

One of the most interesting jobs I've had as a show choir arranger.  The director gave me their desired text and a synopsis of the show, and then I was sent on my way to write an original piece for their choir.  Needless to say I had a blast putting this puzzle together.   In the show the piece functioned as the opening number, a coronation ceremony for the new king of Atlantis before it is cursed to the bottom of the ocean.

Live performance by the Mt. Eden High School 'Monarch Mirage' show choir

English translation:

Rejoice your heart until your heart is overwhelmed.
It's good to follow your heart; you'll be alive.
Put myrrh upon your head,
your clothes of fine linen,
be you anointed with those marvels pertaining to God.
Make an amount of your joys until your heart grows weary,
follow your heart and what is good for you.
Do your affairs on Earth following your heart's commands.
